Okay, it is Friday night before the bank holiday, and you’ve got some options.

(1) The Late Late Show, check out that full line-up here.

(2) The Graham Norton Show, check out that full line-up here.

(3) The movies on TV, check out that full line-up below:

Star Trek Into Darkness – FilmFour – 6.15pm

Benedict Cumberbatch arrives as the big bad guy in this dark’n’gritty sci-fi action sequel.

Jack Reacher – Virgin Media One – 9pm

Low-key one of the Tom Cruise’s best movies, playing a retired army detective attempting to track down a sniper who seemingly assassinates a group of random people for no reason.

Insidious – Sky Showcase – 9pm

Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne headline this horror, as the parents to a young boy who has become the focus of attention for a group of demons.

Hot Shots! Part Two – Comedy Central – 9pm

If you liked the first one, you should like this one too.

1408 – FilmFour – 9pm

Our pick for the night is this under-appreciated Stephen King adaptation gem. Released in 2007, it was a minor box office hit, it was received well by critics, but perhaps the fact that it is set in and around a scary hotel drew too many comparisons to The Shining.

While this isn’t as good as that horror classic, it does feature a pair of great performances from John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, as the guest and hotel manager respectively, dealing with a particular hotel room where nobody has survived longer than an hour after checking in.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle – E4 – 9pm

The first of the Jumanji reboots features The Rock, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan all having an absolute blast.

Never Grown Old – RTÉ2 – 9.40pm

An Irish Western, starring Emile Hirsch and John Cusack. 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Could be worth checking out!

Airplane II: The Sequel – Comedy Central – 10.40pm

The sequel to one of the funniest movies of all time… isn’t as funny as one of the funniest movies of all time. Plus, the title is wrong, since it seems to be mostly set on spaceship?

Hellraiser – Legend – 10.55pm

We recently about this this movie’s 35 year anniversary. One of the most iconic horror movies of all time.

American Psycho – FilmFour – 11.05pm

Christian Bale is fantastic in this darkly comic thriller about a psychotic Wall Street stockbroker trying to keep his serial killer behavior under control.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas – RTÉ One – 11.25pm

The Holocaust drama was met with middling reviews upon release, but has since been heavily criticized for creating a “false equivalence between victims and perpetrators.”

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One – MTV – 1am

The beginning of the end is all set-up and no real pay-off, which arrives in Part Two, which isn’t on tonight.

Shame – FilmFour – 1.10am

Michael Fassbender broke our collective hearts in this raw tale about a man attempting to deal with his sex addiction.

Girls Trip – Channel 4 – 2am

One of the funniest comedies of recent years, and the producer told us they might set the sequel in Ireland!
