Following in her father Daniel Mansilla’s footsteps—an Argentine gelato maker who had a shop in Maracaibo, Venezuela—Florencia Mansilla opened La Argentina Gelato in Katy in 2016. The shop touts elevated flavors like pavlova, caramel vanilla flan, and Daniel’s chocolate, which combines chocolate gelato with chocolate cake, dulce de leche fudge and chocolate fudge. As if the gelato doesn’t impress on its own, there are toppings like crunchy Belgian chocolate chips.
