We’re tracking changes to college sports schedules ahead of Hurricane Ian making landfall on the US mainland this week.
CNN reports that Ian made landfall in Cuba as a Category 3 hurricane on Tuesday. Wind speeds she reached 125 mph, resulting in “significant wind and storm surge effects”.
Here are the latest changes to the college sports schedule:

- North Florida postpones Florida A&M women’s volleyball
Wednesday’s game at Florida A&M has been postponed due to the possible impact of Hurricane Ian.

- North Florida and Kennesaw State women’s soccer postponed
🚨Schedule update🚨
Thursday’s game against Kennesaw State has been postponed due to expected inclement weather from Hurricane Ian and campus closures later this week.
There is currently no change to Sunday’s game against Jacksonville State.

- Eastern Washington vs. Florida Football Moved to Sunday
Due to the effects of Hurricane Ian, the East Washington game has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 2 at noon.
All tickets issued on Saturday will be valid on Sunday.

Details from South Florida:
- The USF volleyball teams will not play in Tampa on Friday and Sunday. The team departs the Bay Area to practice in preparation for the game in Orlando. Officials continue to confirm whether scheduled opponents will be able to travel to the region for the weekend’s competition.
- The USF men’s soccer team’s game in Charlotte scheduled for Friday has been postponed.
- The USF cross-country team was scheduled to compete in the Pole Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday, but USF canceled the Bulls’ participation in that event after a storm affected travel.
- The USF Women’s Golf Team and the USF Men’s Golf Team compete in regular tournaments in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Evanston, Illinois.
